Updates on Gracie

Hi Augie and Bone Pack-

Just want to give some updates on what’s going on with my pup. So my Gracie is a tiny little chichi about 14.9 lbs to be exact. We were dog-sitting a dog an Australian Sheppard and he got too excited and trampled our little Grace, with this she fell to the floor and screamed, and then the following day wasn’t putting any weight on her back leg. We kept a watch on her and took her to the vet, we thought her hip looked funky so we asked for them to check her hip/leg out.

The vet looked at her hip and watched her walk and said it looked okay. We then took her to her PT appointment for her other leg and they noticed she wasn’t putting weight on her back leg so they gave her a look over and said she tore her left ACL.

We then called our vet who took another look at it and confirmed she tore her ACL. So now she has to have surgery. Gracie has a rare auto-immune disease called immune-mediated thrombocytopenia (ITP or Evan’s Syndrome). Due to this, it does keep up on edge about Gracie getting any surgery or any medical care as she is in remission and it could flair it up at any time.

We were praying that it would just heal and be a mistake but it does look like she has to get surgery soon. I will keep you posted on the process, she tore her right ACL four years ago and had a really rough time with recovery so we are hoping that she will heal swimmingly.

Please send positive thoughts to our Gracie.
